NURSING HOME STAFFING STANDARDS IN STATE STATUTES AND REGULATIONS, May 2001
This report was designed to provide information on the state statutes and regulations regarding nurse staffing standards. States have established their own staffing standards as a part of their state nursing facility licensing requirements. The information presented in this report was collected by the University of California, San Francisco, during 2000 and 2001, under a grant funded by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation. This study builds upon an early survey conducted by the National Citizen’s Coalition for Nursing Home Reform (NCCNHR) (1999) of state staffing standards in an effort to understand staffing policies and state variation.
